We stayed here on our very first visit to the Greek Islands and Antonis and his wonderful staff treated us perfectly! It is a prime location that enabled us to work our way around the island with ease! His breakfasts were amazing and everything we needed he helped us with! He gave us great suggestions for our daily explorations! Everything was sparkling clean and we couldn't have have asked for a better time in Sifnos!

I had a wonderful time staying at Smaragdi. The rooms are lovely -- ask for a remodeled room -- and the property is in perfect walking distance of multiple restaurants, shops and sites (we didn't want to rent a car while on the island).

But honestly, Smaragdi is so much more than its parts. Antonis, the owner, is the BEST host anyone could ever ask for. He told us everything we needed to know about the island, and even told us about a local festival we would never have known about. I honestly can't thank him enough for how special he made my stay with my friend. And George makes the best freddo espresso! This is a really special place and Antonis is a very special host.

We spent 4 nights at Smaragdi Hotel and we had a wonderful time. On arrival, we were greeted by Adonis (the boss) who made us feel completely at home in just a few minutes.

Adonis and his staff (George, Esmeralda plus others whose names I can’t remember – sorry about that !) made everything possible to ensure our stay would be enjoyable. They are fantastic hosts. We had a newly renovated room, quiet, stylish and spotlessly clean. The hotel is conveniently situated, very close to shops and restaurants and an easy walk to Apollonia.

Buses leave from about 100 m away from the hotel and go to all the main locations and beaches of Sifnos. Last but not least, Smaragdi Restaurant has a talented young Chef from Athens. The breakfasts are amazing and for dinner, the Chef creates dishes with interesting and great flavours. A massive thank you to you Adonis and your team ! We will definitely return and for a longer time.

Extremely welcoming hotel.The owner really puts himself out to be helpful and advise you on the island.Very clean rooms.Good foods.Also local taverna.Strongly recommended if you want somewhere near the capital as opposed to the beach.We hired a car and visited 5 different beaches during our 3 days.

If there was a prize for best hotel owner then this would surely be the man who would get it. Always friendly, informative and helpful and made our stay really special. The hotel is being refurbished - outside done and 4 of the 12 rooms now completed - we stayed in room 11 which was really lovely.

The hotel breakfast was a real treat and we had the most wonderful poached egg with cheese and scrambled egg and salmon.

The hotel is in a very nice location in this lovely quiet village.

You can walk into Apollonia in about 15 minutes whilst the bus stop is almost next to the hotel.

Go to Faros and Kastro which are great examples of Greek sea villages and easy to get to on the bus.

Sifnos is a truly beautiful island and we thoroughly recommend staying for a few days in this lovely small hotel. We would love to have had a swimming pool but otherwise a great hotel.

I found this hotel really nice and warm! the staff and Mr. Antonis do all the best to make you feel comfortable and at home in a cosy atmosphere.

Altough my room was not extremely new esp. the bathroom (I recommend to install a shower holder) the accomodation was comfy and pieceful as the island itself.

Far from the crowd of the beaches and with Apollonia in reach of a 20 minuted walk thru beautiful steps, it is the perfect spot to visit, hike the island and reach pretty beaches with buses starting at 9 am near your breakfast area.

Antonis will advise on how to organize your activites and I strongly recommend to eat dinner there as other tested places are lower in quality and food disply.

We struggled to find a spot to stay on Sifnos but were extremely happy with our decision to book Smaragdi. The updated rooms were well-decorated and extremely clean and cozy. The restaurant was delicious. We had one of our most memorable meals on the island there and the made to order breakfast is a delicious way to start the day.

The hotel is well-located. The staff are extremely friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this gem of a hotel. Looking forward to returning one day.
